Find out what flying internationally is like during the current pandemic and lockdown situation - getting to the airport, security checks, airport safety measures, boarding, in the plane, all the tea!

I flew with EasyJet from London Gatwick to Berlin on 6th July 2020 to see my sister after 7 months apart. I was quite anxious about the trip but I had nothing to worry about. Gatwick, usually an extremely busy airport, was so quiet, there were hardly any people around. Hand sanitizer everywhere, reminders to keep your distance and to wear your face mask at all times.

A pleasant surprise was the boarding procedure - row by row, back to front. First the people with seats at the back were boarding, and then in groups for the rows in front. I think they should do this all the time, no rushing and queueing! Disembarking was done the same way, only it was front to back. So you come in close contact only with the people seated around you, not the whole plane. Of course the plane was very empty as well!

I hope you have found this video useful if you are traveling soon or just wondering what it would be like right now. Bear in mind, the UK government now allows travelling, as well as Germany. Always check with your local authorities and regulations before traveling as every place is different, this video is only sharing my own experience. Safe travels everyone :)
