The WHO says it wants countries to continue using AstraZeneca’s vaccine,… saying the shots have no direct link to the recent cases of blood clots in people who recently got the shots.
However, the agency's appeal appears to have fallen on deaf ears.

The World Health Organization has advised countries to continue using the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
The advisory comes after an increasing number of countries in Europe decided to temporarily suspend the rollouts,… due to fears over blood clots.
During a press briefing on Monday, the WHO's chief scientist stressed that there has been no causal link established between the shot and clotting so far.
The scientist pointed out that incidents of blood-clotting happen more often in the general population.
Another WHO vaccine expert also stressed that the benefits of getting vaccinated outweigh the risks.

"… the recommendation at this point is that the risk benefit of not vaccinating using AstraZeneca vaccines in other vaccines outweigh the risk of the COVID infection, which we know has a significant impact on people with severe disease, hospitalization and death."

The WHO director general added that the organization's advisory committee will meet on Tuesday to review data on vaccine safety.

However, despite the WHO, European regulators, and the company insisting there is no evidence of the vaccine causing clots… more countries in Europe have joined the list.
According to the Associated Press,… Germany, France, Italy and Spain on Monday decided to halt AstraZeneca shots.
Germany's decision comes after seven cases of blood clotting was reported in people who had been inoculated.
France and Italy have decided to suspend the jab momentarily, while Spain announced it will stop the rollout for two weeks.
The EU drug regulator is set to meet on Thursday to review the vaccine's safety data before deciding on measures if necessary.
