The Campaign
The world’s largest youth movements have joined forces with the World Health Organization and United Nations Foundation to launch the ‘Global Youth Mobilization for Generation Disrupted’. This groundbreaking initiative will invest and scale-up youth-led solutions and youth engagement, directing support towards a generation of young people severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Opportunity
This initiative aims also to change the narrative from seeing young people as an obstacle in fighting COVID-19, to finding allies in them, their talents, creativity and connectedness by acknowledging their reality. The initiative offers a unique opportunity to engage young people directly in implementing, scaling and replicating solutions to health and societal COVID-19 challenges.

The Participants
1. Young people who are not active leaders yet but want to commit and contribute actively to their communities (14-30 years old).
2. Active young people/young leaders: who are already engaged in community initiatives and can support the first target group and take on the role as peer educators/mentors (14-30 years old).

The Contribution
This campaign will offer a platform for young people to address themes and issues that have had an impact on them during and post COVID-19 pandemic based on their personal realities. In addition, help sustain a healthier, more resilient post pandemic world where young people from diverse backgrounds continue to drive change in their local communities.

The Take Aways
Our intention is that this campaign will offer global young leaders and those who have not yet had a chance to be active in their communities a new thinking and a platform to engage with peers and policy makers as they continue to drive change in their local communities and this momentum will continue to build up as we draw closer to the Global Youth Summit which has been scheduled for 23 – 25th April 2021. The purpose of the summit is to Inspire. Educate and Engage young people who have found ways to survive and transform their lives and communities through innovations that will continue to respond to the current crisis and shape the future for the better post COVID-19 pandemic.
