Germany: Demonstrators at pro-Palestine rally detained in Berlin

Several demonstrators were detained at a pro-Palestine rally held on the steps of Berlin's Rathaus Neukolln on Wednesday.

Police could be seen entering the peaceful demonstration and removing several protesters, allegedly due to violating coronavirus safety measures.

Speakers at the demo encouraged those in attendance to wear masks, keep distance, and to not oppose police detainment in an attempt to keep the demonstration peaceful and calm.

This comes after days of escalating tensions between Israel and Palestine, which were partially sparked due to attempted expulsion of Palestinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in East Jerusalem. Rockets have been fried from both Israel and Palestinian militants.
