Germany: Hundreds of COVID sceptics march through Berlin blasting lockdown measures

Approximately 300 coronavirus sceptics marched from Berlin's iconic Brandenburg Gate to the Victory Column on Sunday evening. The demonstrators wanted to show their support for the similarly themed demonstration that was shut down in Vienna as well as to speak out against lockdown measures.

"In my opinion, the coronavirus restrictions are too hard and the collateral repercussions are so huge that they led me to set up this event tonight to protest against these repercussions," stated demonstrator Ruman.

The protest lasted about three hours and was entirely peaceful. Demonstrators held candles and chanted against what they perceive as a dictatorship due to the extensive lockdown measures.

There have been 2,225,659 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Germany since the outbreak began. Thus far there have been 57,777 virus-related deaths nationwide.
