Germany: Hundreds of left-wing activists march through Berlin

Hundreds of activists from left wing groups marched through central Berlin on Wednesday. Their rally came as a counter demonstration to a planned rally by coronavirus sceptics from the Querdenken 711 initiative.

Footage shows the demonstrators marching with various placards and banners, some of which read "Corona is the virus, Capitalism is the pandemic," and "Let the rich pay for the crisis" and heavy police presence.

The Querdenken activists have been attempting to stage demonstrations against COVID restrictions across Germany around New Year's Eve but many of them were banned.

Germany reported its highest daily number of 1,129 deaths related to the coronavirus on Wednesday.
