Global Conversations: East Asian Outdoor Arts
In light of the current challenges facing international collaboration, XTRAX is hosting a series of online Global Conversations which aims to support international colleagues to continue conversations, facilitate information-sharing across borders, and spark a debate about the future of the outdoor sector. The speakers will be asked to give a brief overview of the current responses to COVID-19 in their country and to respond to a series of questions about how to maintain international connections in these challenging times.
This first Global Conversation event included several representatives from East Asia. Between 2020 to 2022 we wish to build on existing relationships we have developed in Asia, creating new partnerships and facilitating exchange between East Asian countries and the UK in the field of outdoor arts, street theatre and performance.
Speakers:
Jin Yim, Independent Producer, Programmer of Pohang Street Arts Festival/Gwacheon Festival, Organizing team of Korea Street Arts Association
Yuan-Ching Yang, Curator, Hualien Performing Public Space Festival and Vice President of Taiwan Street Arts and Culture Development Association, Taiwan
Alison M. Friedman, Artistic Director, Performing Arts, West Kowloon Cultural District
Michelle Rocha – Head of Touring, Manchester International Festival
