Arguably, the Covid-19 pandemic changed the world of work more radically than any other single event in history. But how much of this change will be enduring, where will we see permanent transformation, and how can companies evolve in line with rapidly shifting expectations?

This research explores how attitudes to work have changed in this short period of time, and provides insights on the gaps that employers need to close to position as an employer of choice in the emerging future era of work. Areas of focus include flexible work practices, measuring productivity, the new leadership profile, digital reskilling, soft skills, and corporate trust.

The fieldwork was conducted in May 2020 and assessed the changing attitudes to work of 8,000 people across eight markets (Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the UK and the USA). Through these insights we can extrapolate how the new era of work will evolve, and what will be important for individual workers, leaders, and businesses to successfully operate in this unchartered environment.
