A video of Lufthansa’s newest member of the A320-200(ceo)-fleet leaving Frankfurt bound for Berlin-Tegel, passing through some spectacular cloud formations southwest of the airport.

One can clearly we the airport coming to life again, as Covid-19 lockdown had just been over for a while and German summer holiday season was about to start. Yet one can clearly see how the crisis has been impacting the aviation industry, as some planes on the southern aprons were still in deep-storage, some with their engines removed. Also due to the decreased number of inbound traffic there was enough space for a Motor Glider to fly some patterns on runway 25L, which definitely is a rare catch in Frankfurt.

D-AIWK, one of the latest additions to the LH fleet, already featuring the new cabin, had been stored in Nordholz Air Base, northern Germany, for a bit over a month,, was brought back into service only 2 weeks before the recording of this video. It was also one of its last flights to Berlin-Tegel, as the airport will be closed with the long anticipated opening of the Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport in fall 2020.
