Thousands of pro-Palestinian Berliners have participated in a car parade on Sunday, protesting against the Israeli crackdown on the Gaza Strip.
Around 400 vehicles with around 1,000 passengers, first gathered by the Grosser Stern and drove through the central streets of the German capital, honking their horns and carrying Palestinian and Turkish flags raised up out of the windows.
The motorcade, which finishing point was Hotel Estrel in Neukolln district, was escorted by police vehicles all the way. The car rally in solidarity with Palestine happened to be peaceful, however it created blockage of roads for other traffic.
On Saturday a demonstration in Neukolln in solidarity with Palestine and against the actions of the Israeli government ended in violence, as Berlin police used force and pepper spray to disperse the crowd for the non-compliance with the current coronavirus related regulations. Also more that 90 police officers were reported to have been injured while being targeted with stones and bottles thrown by pro-Palestinian protesters. Almost 60 people were arrested during the scuffles.
